Veterinarian
Dr. Emily Bardo is a California native, raised along the Bay Area coast in Half Moon Bay. Her passion for horses began early in life and led her to the Central Coast, where she earned an undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University in 2015.
After veterinary school, Dr. Bardo pursued an internship at Pioneer Equine Hospital in Oakdale, CA, where she gained valuable, hands-on experience in all aspects of equine medicine. She began working at San Luis Obispo Equine (formerly "the Equine Center") in 2017 and her professional interests include preventative care, sports medicine, and lameness.
Dr. Bardo values building lasting relationships with clients and is dedicated to working together to help her equine patients feel and perform their best.
Outside of her veterinary work, Dr. Bardo enjoys hiking, spending time at the beach, and cheering on the San Francisco Giants. She is excited to be part of the team at San Luis Obispo Equine Medical Center and looks forward to providing compassionate, high-quality care for clients and their horses.
