Eye that needs a naso-lacrimal flush

We all know that horses can get themselves into all kinds of trouble in one‐way or another! Having a first aid kit on hand can help prevent small problems from becoming big problems. This kit can also help you respond quickly in serious situations while your veterinarian is on her way to your farm!

EQUINE FIRST AID KIT

These are some basic items to get you started.

  • Thermometer
  • Stethoscope
  • Banamine (1 paste tube)
  • Bute (1 paste tube or bottle of tabs)
  • Triple Antibiotic Ophthalmic Ointment (1 tube)
  • Nitrofurazone (1 lb. Tub)
  • Couple rolls of each – Vet Wrap, Elastikon, Brow Gauze
  • Sterile 4×4 gauze
  • 12oz. Betadine scrub
  • 32 oz. Alcohol 70%
  • Leg Wraps
  • Scissors

Remember, this is a basic kit, and your specific needs may differ depending on the activities in which that you and your horse participate. We recommend that you call your veterinarian to design a kit for your needs.
